Leigh Brannon MBACP is a qualified and experienced clinical supervisor, providing supervision to Counsellors and Psychotherapists. With a Level 6 Diploma in Clinical Supervision accredited by the CPCAB, Leigh has worked in both private and agency (Relate) settings, and is part of a team of clinical supervisors providing practice advice across the country.
Supervision with Leigh is available in the Durham area or via webcam, offering flexibility to suit your needs. Leigh primarily uses the Seven-eyed model of supervision, which allows for a comprehensive exploration of all aspects of the therapeutic relationship but also draws on her training in Person Centred, Psychodynamic, and Systemic Therapy to offer an integrated and relational approach.
Supervision is an essential part of ethical and effective practice for counsellors and psychotherapists, providing a space for reflection, support, and development. Leigh believes that supervision is a collaborative and creative process, and is committed to supporting the growth and flourishing of her supervisees so that they can provide the best possible service to their clients.
We also offer specialised one-off supervision sessions in a range of subject areas. These areas include couple and family therapy, relational trauma, attachment, coercive control, and substance addiction. If you are looking for support and guidance in any of these areas, we can provide a safe and confidential space for you to discuss your work and explore your practice further. Her goal is to help you enhance your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can provide the best possible care to your clients.
We offer group supervision sessions for 5 to 12 people, which can be arranged upon request. These sessions are available in-person in Durham or through webcam and phone. Group supervision can be a great way to enhance learning, promote collaboration, and provide peer support. It allows participants to gain multiple perspectives, insights and feedback from others in similar roles and situations.
"I began training as a Relate counsellor in 2005 and Leigh is my fifth supervisor to date. She has brought new and refreshing insights to the supervisory relationship which I have not experienced before and this has served to stimulate my thinking and increase my learning and self-reflection.
There is a freedom to explore ideas in our supervision sessions, without the need to censor or edit what I say because I do not feel judged by Leigh. I can talk about what is happening in my own life where necessary and I find that there is always honest and mutual trust in our communications.
I also appreciate that my strengths as a counsellor are positively affirmed and this gives me the confidence to make bolder choices in my client work."
